Being an art student first, I have a passion for the classical arts and have developed a special dedication to architecture over the years. I have been exploring my own style evolving and refining it each time I involve my self in a new project. A beautiful piece of architecture draws from all facets of life and I use every tool available tool to create an innovative design solution for the project at hand. My talents in the arts range from painting, and pen-and-ink, however this does not stop me from taking advantage of the many digital mediums available. I have worked with most of the digital design software, in both the architectural world as well as the industrial design field, to explore and constantly and test its boundaries opening up the potential of each program and possibly refine my own design method in the process. I am hard working and tackle every project with the utmost enthusiasm and dedication.

Sustainable Studio - Savannah Ga.

The Sustainable Studio is designed to expand the Architecture school at Savannah College of art and Design. The building’s materials are completely local and sustainable. The building is built into ruins of an old railroad station in the Historic District of Savannah. Rehabilitation and conservation was the goal for the study center, as well as showcasing new green ideas, such as an earth-berm over the computer-lab, permeable concrete sidewalks, rain collection, natural ventilation and lighting, and cork studio floors. Project designed by Jon Couch and Ted Vitale.

WITH TECHNOLOGY AND SIMPLE PASSIVE DESIGN METHODS, WE CAN BEGIN TO DESIGN WITH CONFIDENCE. OUR BUILDINGS CAN BECOME SELF SUFFICIENT AND OUR RELATIONSHIP CAN COME ONE STEP CLOSER TO A COMMENSALISTIC SYMBIOTIC SYSTEM, WHERE ALTHOUGH WE MAY NOT BE ABLE TO GIVE BACK TO THE ENVIRONMENT, WE CAN AT LEAST DESIGN INTELLIGENTLY SO AS NOT TO HARM THE ENVIRONMENT . TO ACHIEVE THIS IDEAL SYMBIOTIC RELATIONSHIP I PLAN TO USE ALL RECYCLED AND OR RECYCLEABLE PARTS, AND PASSIVE SUSTAINABLE DESIGN TECHNIQUES.

Natural Ventilation Through the Building

INCLUDING PASSIVE SYSTEMS ON THE SITE IS ANOTHER WAY THE BUILDING serves as A STEPPINGSTONE TO THE FUTURE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN MAN AND HIS NATURAL SURROUNDINGS. THE COLLECTION OF RAIN WATER FOR IRRIGATION OF THE GREEN ROOF AND THE RECYCLING OF WATER FOR RESTROOMS WILL CONSERVE AND RELIEVE STRAIN ON THE SITE. ALTHOUGH TAPPING INTO THE ARTESIAN WELL ON THE SITE FOR THE MAJORITY OF THE POTABLE WATER IS NECESSARY, THE COLLECTION AND USE OF GREY WATER WILL GREATLY RELIEVE THE STRAIN ON THAT WELL. FOR ELECTRICAL AND VENTILATION NEEDS, THE BUILDNG WILL RELY ON THE ABUNDANT WINDS ON THE ISLAND BY INCORPORATING A SMALL WIND FARM MADE UP OF THE “OUIET REVOLUTION 5” WIND TURBINE SYSTEM, AS WELL AS PHOTOVOLTAIC SYSTEMS ON THE ROOF, AND OPERABLE WINDOWS THROUGHOUT THE BUILDING.
